This fascinating complex was created by Enrico Mattei, charismatic president of ENI in the early ’50s. The idea was to create a holiday village for use by the 6,000 ENI employees, from executives to workers, without any hierarchical distinction. Now transformed into a hotel and private homes it still retains its charm and with new homes and a spa built to reflect the original style it continues to be a popular destination in the italian alps.
